London Tech Week 2024

London Tech Week returned to the capital last week, keeping the Seven Hills team was busy on exciting event and media opportunities for our clients.

Russ Shaw CBE, founder of Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates, as always was at the forefront of promoting London as the best place in the world for tech. He kicked off the week with an appearance on BBC Business News with Sally Bundock, discussing the crucial role of tech and innovation in UK growth. On Wednesday, he joined Tom Mackenzie on Bloomberg TV to highlight London’s emergence as a global AI hub, the Raspberry Pi IPO, and the implications of the upcoming general election.

Throughout the week, Russ contributed daily blogs to City AM, covering a range of topics including London’s leadership in AI, the tech sector’s role in achieving net zero, the importance of semiconductors, and the need to invest in digital and green skills. We also supported Strava during its European Leadership Tour. With new CEO Michael Martin and his executive team in town, the team facilitated several high-profile media engagements, including interviews with BBC Business News and Bloomberg’s Daybreak, and a media breakfast at Soho House for key media contacts from the UK, Spain, and France. Additionally, Mike and his team presented at Olympia London, spotlighting Strava’s latest developments, product launches, and plans for the future. Mike also attended the flagship event of London Tech Week, Founders Forum, event in Oxfordshire.
